Forgotten Memories: Pudu Prison

Like an enigma caught in modern times, the Pudu Prison sits quaint at one of the busiest intersections of Kuala Lumpur – all 115 years of it. Among the oldest in the nation, the jail has been revered to have stood the test of time. It has witnessed the coming and going of the British colonial rule, the Japanese occupation and the pre-Independence state of emergency. The story of Pudu Jail began in 1891.

Watch out for “Beyond Bars KL’s Pudu Prison” on the 26th December 2010, 10pm on History Channel (555).
